Oratory Contest
Use your voice for LIFE!
High school juniors and seniors are eligible to compete in New York State Right to Life's 30th Annual Oratory Contest. Students should prepare an original, 5-7 minute, pro-life speech on abortion, euthanasia, infanticide, or stem cell research.
Students first compete in local competitions, hosted by NYSRTL affiliates. Students can contact Natalie at NYSRTL (email or call 518-434-1293) for details on the local contest in your area. Most local contests take place February through April and some offer cash prizes. Local winners from across New York State will present the same speech at the statewide competition held in Albany, NY in May.
State finalists will compete for cash prizes and the opportunity to attend the National Teens for Life Convention, June 28-30, 2012, in Washington, DC and compete in the National Right to Life Jane B. Thompson Oratory Contest, which will take place on Saturday, June 30. The winner of the national competition will present his or her speech at the closing banquet of the convention.
